IYC Autumn 2020 Course

Bernie Sherlock – the newly appointed conductor of the Irish Youth Choir – is signing up singers for an exciting online weekend course which she is directing from October 10-11, 2020.

The weekend includes wonderful choral music, vocal workshops with the IYC's team of voice tutors, and essential musical skill development, all culminating in a virtual concert performance.

The course marks the start of a busy year for the IYC which includes plans for a second weekend course in February as well as the annual 9-day residential summer course commencing August 13.

The IYC Online Autumn Weekend is open to any singer who will be aged between 18 and 28 on October 11. You must be available for the full course (two days from 10am – 3pm). The application deadline is October 5th.

To apply, simply fill in the form below and upload the following:

1. An unedited video recording of yourself singing something of your choice a cappella (without headphones or accompaniment).

2. An unedited video recording of yourself singing in steps from your lowest note to your highest.

To Upload your videos:

Name your recordings as follows: IYC20, your name followed by your part and the name of your piece of choice or scale eg:

IYC 20, Lily Lacy, sop 2, I dreamt I dwelled in marble halls

IYC 20, Lily Lacy, sop 2, scale

Open the Completed Videos folder in Megadrop and upload your recording

Course Fees: €50 Payable on offer of a place.

*Singers will be offered places based on submitted videos and experience

*PLEASE ensure that you have both submitted the form and uploaded both videos by the deadline of 5th October.
