Irish Youth Training Choir

Overseen by Sing Ireland, the Irish Youth Training Choir led by Patrick Barrett is the only dedicated national youth choir that offers training opportunities for singers aged 14-17 from all over Ireland.

The Irish Youth Training Choir (IYTC) meets every Easter and Summer for an intensive residential course and singing experience. Welcoming singers from all backgrounds, IYTC is made up of young singers with a passion for choral music from across Ireland.

What can I expect?

If you are an young singer aged between 14 and 17 years, this is an exciting opportunity for you to train and perform with leading choral professionals. during a residential summer course, culminating in an IYTC concert performance.

During a residential course, members participate in a daily routine of physical and vocal warm-ups, musicianship classes, sectional and full choir rehearsals - a complete singing experience - which culminates in an IYTC Concert Performance. Sports and recreational activities are organised as part of the course.
