Vacancy for Organist in Enniskerry Parish, Co. Wicklow

Published 1 October 2019

Organist required for Enniskerry Parish, to accompany small (15 - 20) accomplished and friendly 4-part choirs at Sunday Mass at two of the parish churches. Both choirs have an extensive repertoire of hymns, Christmas carols and classical pieces. We lost our current organist due to his new commitments in the USA.

St. Patrick’s Church, Curtlestown

The church is located in Curtlestown about 3 miles outside Enniskerry on the Enniskerry - Glencree road. It has a two-manual digital church organ (Viscount Chorum 60 Deluxe with 32 note pedal-board).

Our organist conducts the choir from the organ except on special occasion when our choir is joined by local and well-known musicians – including concert violist & harpist.

The choir sings at Mass every Sunday (10:00 - 10:45) from mid-September to mid-June. Generally, every second Sunday, after Mass and a coffee break, we have a choir practice which finishes at 12:15.

St. Mary’s Church, Enniskerry

The church is located in the centre of Enniskerry and has a beautiful pipe organ .

The choir, which has a musical director/conductor, sings at Mass (11:00 - 11:45) accompanied by our organist every second Sunday when there is no choir practice at St. Patrick’s.

Remuneration
€60 per hour paid by the parish monthly in arrears.
