Celebrate St Patrick 2019

Published 18 December 2018

One of Ireland’s most notable choral events, "Celebrate St. Patrick" is a joyous choral occasion in an historic and inspirational location.

We’ll record the concert and then broadcast or stream it to numerous worldwide websites on St. Patrick’s Day. Which means that the choir can watch their performance and tell their friends and relatives.

The video clip below will give you a brief overview of what it’s all about, but if I can answer any questions directly, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

This is an invitation to all choirs.

Nowhere else in the world that can match the unique locations in Northern Ireland, including the place of St Patrick’s first church (Armagh’s two Cathedrals) and his grave (in Downpatrick Cathedral).

Choirs and choral music are at the heart of this exciting mix of words, music and dance, traditional and classical, ancient and modern, the reflective and exuberant, the sacred and secular, which all combine to make this a very special and memorable evening. As well as the usual secular festivities for St Patrick, we are justifiably proud to celebrate our national saint with an uplifting, joyous occasion dedicated to the true meaning of his life and legacy.

In the beautiful acoustics of the magnificent St Patrick’s Cathedral in Armagh, you can imagine the very special resonance of the words, melody and meaning of, for example, a hymn like ‘Be Thou My Vision’, sung by massed choirs.

Each choir is invited to perform a piece or pieces of their choice, as well as being part of the combined choirs, and to enjoy the special guest performers. This is a unique event in a unique location and a joyous celebration of the most celebrated saint in the world.
