Clermont Chorale, Dundalk seeks a Musical Director

Clermont Chorale (Dundalk, Co. Louth) is seeking a Musical Director.

Applications are invited for the position of musical director from suitably qualified candidates. The position commences in January 2020.

The Choir: Established in 2003 as a mixed four part Chamber Choir, Clermont Chorale performs a wide variety of choral music with the emphasis on a cappella performances. The repertoire ranges from madrigals to modern with the ladies often performing together as a sub group of the choir. The choir has participated in Choral Festivals and Competitions both at home and abroad and has undertaken tours to the United States, Germany, Russia and Italy. Local concerts are usually undertaken at Christmas each year and travel abroad on alternate years.

Qualifications: The applicant is required to have a formal education in music and experience working with choral music and choirs. Keyboard skills are desirable.

Job Description Position of Musical Director:

  • Setting the choir programme and repertoire for the year
  • Leading weekly rehearsals during school term time (currently Tuesday 7-9pm in Dundalk Institute of Technology)
  • Conducting the choir at all events

Additional Information:

  • The Musical Director will work closely with the choir committee who will support the Musical Director in delivering the choir programme.

Remuneration: Rate to be agreed.
