Carlow Voices is seeking a Musical Director.
Carlow Voices, in preparation for a return to choral activity when public health advice permits it, is now seeking applications for the position of musical director from suitably qualified candidates. The position will commence when public health circumstances allow for a resumption of activities. The closing date is Sunday, 28th June 2020 at 10 pm.
The Choir: Carlow Voices, established in 2002 as Córmíosa, is a mixed Soprano, Alto, Baritone community-based choir. Since its inception, the choir has performed a wide repertoire of choral music – including SATB - across Classic & Contemporary, Secular & Religious, World & Irish genres and has regularly entered choral competitions.
The choir aims to enrich its members through the enjoyable act of singing in harmony and to achieve high performance standards through collective & individual commitment. Rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings from 7:45 – 9:45 in Scoil Muire Primary School, Carlow Town.
Qualifications: The applicant is required to have a formal education in music and experience working with choral music and choirs. Keyboard skills are desirable.

Setting the choir programme and repertoire for the year
Conducting vocal assessments as appropriate with existing members and new applicants
Leading weekly rehearsals
Conducting the choir at all events and competitions
The Musical Director will work closely with the choir committee which will support the Musical Director in delivering the choir programme.
Remuneration: Rate to be agreed.
