Sing Ireland Statement on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Sing Ireland sends its best wishes and thoughts to choirs, festivals and other choral and singing events that have been affected by the Government announcement today on restricting events of over 100 people. We know the tireless work, energy and talent that goes into organising these events and how disappointing it will be to now face the prospect that the event must be cancelled or postponed.

Sing Ireland advises that the restrictions imposed today be followed and that any large gatherings of people are avoided for the period until the 29th March.

All singing groups should note, act upon and continually monitor the advice and guidance issued by the Health Service Executive (Republic of Ireland) and the National Health Service and Public Health (Northern Ireland) in relation to the current coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

It is important that we all work together, following the advice of experts, in controlling the spread of COVID-19 infection.

This is a very fluid situation and we ask our members and all festivals and industry partners to monitor the latest advice regularly.
