‘Me and My Music’ Call for Choral Facilitators

Junior Cycle for Teachers (JCT), in collaboration with the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) and Sing Ireland, are delighted to offer an initiative entitled ‘Me and My Music’ for music teachers, choral facilitators and first-year students of Junior Cycle Music. This Arts in Junior Cycle initiative aims to support the integration of the principles and key skills which underpin the Framework for Junior Cycle (2015), the Arts in Education Charter and the Creative Ireland Programme (2017-2022), Pillar 1 Creative Youth.

This initiative will provide music teachers, first-year students and visiting choral facilitators with opportunities to meaningfully engage with learning outcomes from the new junior cycle music specification. Through the medium of singing, music teachers, students and choral facilitators will focus on the process of how to create and develop a musical artefact. This learning will support students, music teachers and choral facilitators in developing their music voice and allow their musical self and identity to emerge.

Sing Ireland is recruiting a small team of choral facilitators who will work with and support first-year students and music teachers as part of this initiative.

Please send a short cover letter and curriculum vitae (no more than 3 pages) to info@singireland.ie by 1pm on the 11th March 2019.
