North Clare’s Lismorahaun Singers will bring its unique choral sound to St Michael’s Church in Ennistymon on December 8. The Burren choir will return to the venue where it first performed Mozart’s Requiem in 2005, for a special Christmas Concert, featuring Regina Nathan and Peace and Choir.
The concert will combine a selection of new music with some of the choir’s favourite pieces from the last 25 years and a smattering of Christmas favourites.
Founded in 1999, the Lismorahaun Singers is a non-audition choir of ambitious, amateur singers. The 50 strong choir was founded by Archie Simpson and is now under the direction of Kate Daly.
Regina Nathan’s career in opera and recital has taken her from her native Ireland across Europe, and as far as Kuala Lumpur and New York’s Carnegie Hall.
She has sung major lyric soprano roles throughout her career in some of Europe’s major Opera Houses including Cio-Cio San, Violetta, Susannah, Norma, and Cleopatra.
Peace and Choir are a community singing group based in Miltown Malbay in West Clare. The singing group engages in a wide range of harmony songs of world music and sing for community and wellbeing.
Tickets, at a cost of €15 (€12 concession), are available from eventbrite.ie, from choir members and on the door on the night.
