IYC Conductor-in-Training 2023

The Irish Youth Choir, under Artistic Director Bernie Sherlock, is inviting applications for Conductor-in-training for the duration of its Summer Residential Course in the University of Limerick from the 11-20 July, 2023. The successful candidate will play a full part in all IYC activities and will also prepare selected scores as a conductor. There will be an opportunity to conduct the IYC in one piece in public performances. Other opportunities may arise to give additional support and training to singers during the residential course.
This mentoring opportunity is open to musicians in the early stages of their conducting career who have had experience of training and conducting choirs. Candidates must be aged 35 years or under in 2023. Interested conductors should submit a CV and a letter of application outlining their musical background, conducting experience, and suitability for the position, by email to recruitment@singireland.ie.
The deadline for applications is Tuesday, 25 April 2023 and the successful applicant will be informed by Tuesday, 2 May 2023.
Please note, all applicants must be available to attend IYC for the duration of the course in July 2023. Attendance at IYC and meals and accommodation are provided for the successful applicant.
