Hands in Harmony Deaf Choir Performance
Hands in Harmony is a Deaf Community Choir with a mixture of deaf and hearing members. We will perform to songs that have been translated into Irish Sign Language and practised by the choir. It will be a visual delight, with a variety of different songs to suit all tastes and ages. Our mission is to raise awareness of deafness and Irish Sign Language positively, highlighting the beautiful language and culture of the deaf community. Our performances are both emotional and visually stimulating, opening minds to something new and exciting.

St Fin Barre’s Cathedral – Music, Tours and Architecture

Choral Evensong
Choral Evensong has its roots in the ancient monastic offices of Vespers and Compline and is currently sung in the Cathedral on Sundays at 3.30pm (except July and August). The responses are sung by a Cantor and the Cathedral choir sing the canticles, Magnificat & Nunc Dimittis, along with an Anthem.

Admission will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The doors will close very soon after the service begins.

Singing with Sacred Harp Singers of Dublin

This four-part a cappella music dates from the 16th through the 20th centuries, and is characterised by haunting harmonies, traditional modes, raucous songs, serene hymns, fast fugues, and high-energy anthems. The notation is written in shapes that correspond to degrees of the scale, making it easy to sight-sing. The Sacred Harp tradition is focused on participation rather than performance and all voices are welcome. The Sacred Harp Singers of Dublin meet weekly (Friday 7pm – 9pm) in the Friary Centre in Cook Street and are delighted to welcome participants who wish to sing.

Tallaght Theatre: Choral Classics

Tallaght Choral Society is delighted to be involved in this gorgeous evening of dance, drama and song that the Tallaght Theatre is putting on, especially for you to enjoy. Culture Night at 1WML

A quartet of singers from Chamber Choir Ireland welcomes audiences to the Windmill Quarter for a concert of light-hearted early music, contemporary Irish works, and favourite partsongs—full to the brim with birdsong, cheerful foresters, floral garlands, and woodland nymphs. Featuring works by Clément Janequin, Thomas Morley, Palestrina, Rhona Clarke, Stephen McNeff, Eoghan Desmond, George Macfarren, and Henry Bishop. The venue will also be hosting an art exhibit for the Dublin Paint and Sketch Club for the evening.

A Night of Joy with Newbridge Gospel Choir in The Town Hall

On Culture Night, experience ‘A Night of Joy’ with Newbridge Gospel Choir. With almost 100 members they are sure to raise the roof of the beautiful town hall. Accompanying them on the night will be Pud Barrett on guitar along with members of SBPS Adult Choir and members of Kerry Group Staff Choir, all under the direction of Lisa Nagle.

Concert in St. Matthews Church – Festival of Culture

The Festival begins on Culture Night with a concert in St. Matthew’s Church Ballymahon with Bridgeways Voices Choir followed by the classical quartet Simply Strings.
The Festival of Culture to be held in Ballymahon is a two-day celebration of the many cultures that we have in our Community. Just Sing! Family night

Acoustic Abbey: 10 years of Ballintubber Abbey Choir with Sr Francis McMyler – Ballintuber

Open rehearsal and performance with Sligo Gospel Choir

Join Sligo Gospel Choir at an open rehearsal (at 6.30 p.m.) at the start of their season. You will learn to sing some simple gospel songs in harmony. ‘Cahir to Sing together’ an evening of music and song at Cahir Community Hall.

Cahir To Sing

You are invited to join us for an evening of music and song at the Cahir Community Hall, Church St, Cahir, Co Tipperary, where you will experience the joy of singing together in a supportive environment. We are encouraging all members of our community, including those who don’t have English as their first language to participate. Cahir to Sing choir will host and the workshop will be led by Irene O’Meara. We will end the evening with performances from our local international community. Come along and enjoy a musical evening of singing and sharing music from France, Finland, Moldova, Ukraine, Switzerland and Ireland.

Irene, a professional facilitator whose focus is on the process as a unifying and positive experience, describes the workshop as follows: “All of the singing will be learned by ear in an inclusive manner where participation and fun is the primary motivation. The emphasis is not on performance but we aim to challenge participants nonetheless to discover the joy of singing in harmony where individuality and unity live side by side in the collective singing experience. ”

Sing Out Loud Singalong in Mullingar Arts Centre

Come along to the Mullingar Arts Centre on the 23rd September between 7.30pm and 8.45pm to a showcase of performance pieces from groups working out of the Centre. Together we will celebrate song, dance, drama, and music. Featuring members of our youth theatre, stage schools, gospel choir, dance schools and our resident group for children and adults with additional needs. It is a great opportunity to discover everything Performing Arts that we have on offer for children, young people and adults in Mullingar and the surrounding areas.

Mullingar Gospel Choir will have you tapping your toes and singing along as a lovely warmup to Culture Night in the Arts Centre. Join them at the front steps of the centre (weather permitting) at 7.30pm for a singalong session.

Across the Boards – resident group for children and young people with additional needs presents ‘Acts and Awards’ a piece incorporating mime to music, song, dance and drama.
There will also be a public showing of Orla and The GoFaster Stick, a film that brings to life the book written by local author Orla Keating.

Mullingar Youth Theatre will present a snippet of ‘It’s All in Your Head,’ a comedy set in the prefrontal cortex of Drew Peterson, a high school boy. Emotion runs wild, Focus can’t focus, and Planning is losing her mind. Together, the feelings of Drew must team up to accomplish their most difficult task: successfully asking a girl out on a date.

Music and Singing Night with Purple House Choir and Guests

The Purple House Choir invites you to an evening of music and singing, followed by refreshments in Purple House Cancer Support Centre in Bray. The Purple House Choir is a therapeutic singing group comprised of people who have been affected by cancer in some way. It is led by our musical director Joan Dempsey and accompanied by guitarist Martin Dodd. The choir was formed almost ten years ago now, by Veronica O’Leary, CEO of Purple House community-based cancer support centre. The choir will also be joined by special guests on the night. This is a casual singalong performance open to anyone who enjoys singing and music. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to sing and enjoy oneself. Booking is essential.

Listen & Sing with Bray Choral Society

Founded in 1986, Bray Choral Society (BCS) delights in performing a broad range of choral works, from works by Handel, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Rossini and Vivaldi, to those of composers of the 21st Century such as John Rutter, Morten Lauridsen, Dan Forrest, Ola Gjeilo, Richard Blackford, Karl Jenkins and Howard Goodall. Frank Kelly is both the choir’s founder and Musical Director and John Kelly is our accompanist.

Bray Choral Society has regularly included other singers and the general public through open ‘Come and Sing’ rehearsals, followed by performances of the rehearsed works. These have proven very popular, the most recent being a rehearsal and performance of Karl Jenkins’ Armed Man, in Christchurch Bray.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Culture Night offering – a workshop / performance with our members in the body of the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, Main Street, Bray and our Musical Director leading and instructing from the altar. The workshop is designed for all comers and any necessary items (music, words etc.) will be supplied. Come along and join in or just come and listen. Good fun for all and you can sit on the comfortable new seats in the Church!
