Diversity, Equity and Inclusion training for Singing Groups

Sing Ireland is proud to present this online training free to singing groups (subject to availability) and is grateful to the Arts Council for enabling funding to allow it to happen.

Sing Ireland is committed to providing choral and group singing opportunities to all members of society in Ireland. It’s incredibly important that choral and singing group activities are available to all.

Sing Ireland has partnered with PhoenixRize to provide training for staff and members in relation to Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity. The key focus of the training/consulting is to support staff and members to develop a reflect on how they work as they embark on the journey to embedding equality, diversity and inclusion in all its processes, activities and procedures.

Achieving diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) is a fundamental part of fulfilling the mission of any organisation or group. DEI is particularly important when the primary activity of an organisation is to serve people. Singing groups are active in communities right across Ireland and they have an important role to play in DEI. Sing Ireland knows it is possible to have a more diverse, equal, and inclusive group singing community in Ireland.

Four core learning areas have been identified and training will be taking place covering each area in the coming months (Click on each area for further information and to register)

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Singing sector (28th Oct, 4th Nov, 11th Nov 3-430pm)

Cultural Competency for the Singing sector (30th November from 6-8pm)

Unconscious Bias – From Awareness to Action (24th and 25th November from 1-230pm)

Creating an anti-racist and inclusive singing sector (2nd and 7th December from 6-730pm)

About the Facilitators

Adaku Ezeudo and PhoenixRize have over 10 years’ experience in the area of diversity, equity and inclusion.

Our work helps organisations to develop and implement anti-discriminatory and inclusive policies, fulfilling their statutory equality and diversity requirements, while shaping diversity into a strategic advantage.

PhoenixRize has clients across the international corporate sphere and the public sector, closer to home. We have worked with clients including the Animation Ireland, Technological University of Dublin, the Irish Refugee Council, Action Aid, and Draíocht Arts Centre. We have been involved in over 15 diversity, equity and inclusion events in Ireland and Adaku spoken at many more, for organisations including Indeed, Salesforce, the CFO Leadership Council and Heineken Nigeria. She is also a regular contributor to the Society for Human Resource Management, Nigeria’s roster of webinars.

Our consultancy has particular expertise in the area of intercultural relations, race relations and intersectionality and we are passionate about helping leaders to develop their inclusive leadership skills for the benefit of their teams and organisations.

In 2020, PhoenixRize partnered with DCU’s Centre of Excellence for Diversity in developing their Race Equality Toolkit for company managers. PhoenixRize’s own e-learning platform is currently under construction and is due for launch in 2021.

To complement our work in Inclusive Leadership and personal development, we are pleased to introduce executive coaching to our services in addition to our certification through Everything DISC Workplace & Management.
