Invitation to sing

'Celebrate Saint Patrick 2020' warmly invites you and your choir to participate in our musical celebration of St Patrick on Saturday 7th March 2020, in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Armagh.

This is a unique opportunity for your choir to perform on the site of St Patrick’s first church, and then join with other choirs and choral groups to celebrate the life and legacy of one of the world’s most influential saints. The backdrop of the Cathedral and its magnificent acoustic provide an exciting performance space. As part of ‘The Home of St Patrick Festival’ the event will be recorded and streamed online around the world on St Patrick’s day.

This very special Irish evening celebrates St. Patrick through an exciting mix of words, music and dance; traditional and classical, ancient and modern, reflective and exuberant, sacred and secular. There’s a warm welcome for everyone.

On the day

Afternoon rehearsal for your choir; time slots will be allocated, starting at 1pm.

Combined choirs rehearse from 4.30pm – 5pm. The well known repertoire will be sent out in advance.

Break for food from 5pm -7pm; a list of local eateries will be provided in the information pack distributed well in advance.

Everyone in position for recording at 7.15pm.

Special guests, singers and dancers perform in the splendour of the Cathedral and experience the inspiration of St Patrick in this unique venue.

This is a truly wonderful event and an opportunity to sing in one of the most hospitable and historic counties in Ireland. You can get a flavour of what to expect from this short clip at https://youtu.be/C1jJLGhSSqg

We would love you to join us.
